SA80 Inside-out (replica)

SA80 is the symbol of the British Infantry, and also the dream gun of the wargamers who are in British uniform. Academy (a Korean AEG manufacturer) was somehow a good choice to make their dreams come true. However, due to the lack of upgrading capability of the Academy SA80, it is hard to find a team to use it as a major weapon in the games.

Started from 90s, wargamers start to put Marui gearboxes to the following SA80 replica to achieve "Marui's power" on their SA80 AEG. Below are some of the candinates of the SA80 which can fit the marui gearbox.

Most people will use the FA-MAS gearboxes (generation 1) because it is a good fit to the above mentioned SA80 cases. The major drawback is it uses EG560 motor by default and the incompatiablity of gears with later generation gears.

Some people will use the M16 gearboxes (generation 2), M4 gearboxes (generation 2+) or AK gearboxes (generation 3) and fix the motor at the end of the gearbox to fit the whole thing inside the cases. However, the major drawback of this setup is the difficulty to fix the motor.

After Marui invented the P.90 gearboxes (generation 6), the whole picture get changed.......

The generation 6 gearbox is able to fit into a typical SA80 case, as you see below:
